Jumperoo time!!

Today we put together Reagans rainforest jumperoo and tried it out since she able to hold her head up now. She did not know what to think at first and as you can see she is a bit small compared to it. Once the music started she seemed to enjoy watching the lights and licking the seat!

With the addition of this toy, it is official - our house has been over taken by baby things!!

Kate is home!!

Kate returned home from Romania last night and we are happy to have her safe and sound in Indiana!! She had a great time and was able to use her skills to help out several women and children there. After all the travel she is very tired so I was not able to get much out of her yet about her experience but I will try to post some pictures some time this week.

Reagan 3 month photos

Reagan is 3 months old today - how time flies! To help document how she grows over her first year we are having her pictures taken every 3 months. I loved the photographer we worked with for her 3 months pictures. She only charged $95 and then you got a copy of all the shots and a CD with all the pictures on it to make all the copies you want. I would highly recommend her! As you can tell from the pictures she wanted to be a mama's girl. She would scream her head off unless mom was holding her so I was in most of the pictures with her. Here are some of the shots from her photo session this week.

Kate arrives in Romania

My sister, Kate, after about 20 hours of travel has finally arrived in Romania. She is there for a mission trip to help take care of children and mothers. This was such a calling for Kate and a huge step of faith. Please keep Kate in your thoughts and prayers as she is there for the next week being the hands and feet of the Lord. I will post some shots of her once she returns!

So cute

This little girl I swear gets cuter everyday! We just love having her in our lives!!

Brookside Celebration in the Park

Saturday Rob and I volunteered with our life group at Brookside Celebration in the Park. It was a free day for an inner city community that our church works with. We had such a great time - we were in charge of cooking on the grill. This was a such a nice opportunity for Rob and I to volunteer together and we are hopeful to go back again.
Playing a little football with some of the kids

Jenni helping out with the games.

Some of the guys of our group - Andy, little Carter, Chris V. and Rob. We were missing Aaron who is the paster at Brookside so he was busy with organizing things and Chris R. who just had a little baby boy.

We are really blessed with our life group - they are great people to be doing life with!!

2 month check up

Reagan had her two month check up at the Dr yesterday. Dr Gollnick said she looks wonderful!! She did have to get shots which was not fun, she turned shades of red that I have never seen. The medicine upset her stomach a bit and she was very fussy that night but by morning as you can see by the picture she was back to normal. Here are her 2 month stats...

Weight - 10lbs. 4 oz. (30%)

Height - 22.5 inches (47%)

Head - 15 inches (27%)

Rob's 20th reunion

This last weekend we attended Rob's 20th high school reunion in Columbus. We had great weather for spending the day at the park. Rob enjoyed catching up with a few friends and I do believe I was the youngest wife there - something Rob seemed to be pretty proud of!!
We finally got a family shot with all three of us together - isn't is awful it took us this long!

Reagan really enjoyed her first visit to the park. She discovered her ability to make bubbles last week and now is bubble machine!

Mommy's first night out...

My Dad and Step Mom were very kind to come over and watch Reagan for a few hours so that Mom could have a few hours out. (Actually, they were begging to get to watch her!) It was a hard step for me to take but I did it and had a great time. Where you might ask did I go? Well, the state fair of course to see Raschall Flatts!! The fair is a strange place - lots of great people watching to do and any kind of fried food your heart could desire. We really enjoyed ourselves but I was very happy to be back home with Reagan at the end of the night.

Reagan all dressed up for Grandpa to come over.
Can you tell Aunt Kate has been around again?

Kate and I enjoying some pineapple whip after our very fried corn dogs.
Got to love state fair food but not the best place to go when you still losing baby weight!

Reagan's First Bath

Reagan had her first real bath this week, yes I said this week at 8 weeks old. No, she has not been a smelly girl for the last two months, we have been giving her sponge baths. Her cord, which you might remember has been a trouble maker since the beginning, just fell off this week!! I think that maybe some kind of world record to have your cord on until 8 weeks old - I thought the thing was never going to fall off! As you can see she really enjoys being in the water, she was kicking her feet and smiling.

Such a girl...

Reagan is a teenager in training as you can see by this picture - she is getting some important phone time in. Just in the last few weeks she has started to look at things more and is able to hold some light weight things in her hands. This week she has been staring at her hands and is so interested in them.

This was an attempt at some tummy time. As you can see she is so comfortable that she fell asleep after just a few minutes and by the look on her face she thinks it is pretty funny!

Playing Dress Up

Aunt Katlyn enjoys playing dress up with Reagan whenever she comes over to visit. Today she was here when it was time to get her dressed for the day. This is her first time to have shoes on her feet and they are a bit big for her but she looks cute!

Earlier in the week she was trying on all her hats....

As you can see she will only play dress up for a short period of time before getting mad about being messed with. I am sure it is something she will enjoy with Aunt Kate once she gets a bit bigger.

2 weeks old

Here are some shots of Reagan at two weeks old. Hard to believe it has been two weeks already...but I don't really remember what life was like without her!

Riley is very interested in Reagan but very gentle. He loves to check her out when we get home from somewhere and she is in her car seat. He is also very concerned when she cries - very protective of his little sister!

Here is my first attempt at Reagan taking a nap in her big girl bed. It only lasted about minutes once she realized Mommy was no longer holding her. During the day the only places she like to sleep our my arms or her swing - luckly she does like the swing so I can get a few things done during the day.

This is one of my favorite pictures of her that we have taken so far. It is amazing to me how awake is has starting being during the day. She is becoming much more alert and focusing in on objects. It is amazing what she is able to do for only two weeks old!

The princess is home!!!!

We were able to all come home together yesterday(Tuesday)!!! What a joy it was when they said she was doing well and we could go home - I cried of course. Here are a few shots of her without all the cords and in some real clothes at home.

She loves her swing already, she just looks so peaceful in it.

Even new born size clothes are a bit big for her. Oh well, she will grow into them quickly.

Reagan Elizabeth Doll

Reagan Elizabeth Doll
June 14th, 2007
6 lbs 7oz.
20" Long
Reagan had a mind of her own and deceided she was going to make her entrance into this world on her own schedule. Melissa started to have contractions late on Tuesday night which continued all through the night and into Wednesday. By Wednesday evening we were ready to head to the hospital with contraction only being 3-4 minutes apart - we were so excited! When we got to the hospital we were discouraged to hear only 2cm dilated - they were going to try to send us home. (Melissa was not happy to say the least since she had been in painful contractions for several hours) Once discussing our options we choose to stay the night at the hospital with some pain meds so we could get some sleep. The next morning we still had not progressed so the Dr choose to the help the process along. Reagan's little heart did not like the meds that we were getting so the process took a lot longer than expected. But finally she deceided to enter the world on Thursday at 8:23pm!! (For those of you keeping track that is 48 hours of labor)
She did have a few complications...the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck but our Dr was awesome at getting that taken care of before she was even completly delivered. They quickly found out she was having some breathing problems so she was taken to the NICU. She was placed in an oxygen tent to help her out and quickly bounced back. They have kept her in the NICU for her whole stay but she is doing wonderful now and should be able to come home on Sunday!!

Here are some shots of her first days, let us know who she looks like, we still can not tell...

The proud new daddy
Take a look at that double chin
She loves her pacifier already

Here is the oxygen tent she camped out in for her first few hours of life. She only had to be in there for a little over 12 hours and now she is doing wonderful!

Of course she had to steal the show from her Aunt Kate - they share the same middle name. Kate graduate from The Aveda Institute Friday night so we had to miss it but she came to visit afterwards. Doesn't she look awesome - we are so proud of you Kate!!

37 week appointment - Term!!

We have made it to 37 weeks and we are term!! Reagan is safe to come into this world at anytime now - isn't that crazy? This week the Dr said everything looks wonderful measuring on track, heart beat 140, good weight gain. She said that I have dropped a bit more which she did not have to tell me that - my clothes are fitting very differently now. She has scheduled an induction date of June 19th so just a little more than two weeks til Reagan is for such here but if she is like the other women in her life she will have a mind of her own and come before the 19th. Either way we will be parents by the 20th!!!

35 week belly shot

Here is a shot at 35 weeks. We are getting there...you can count it in weeks now instead of months!! Her nursery is almost complete so watch for some shots of it. I promise we will do a lot of posts in the next few weeks to keep everyone up to date as we get closer to Reagan's arrival.

Baby Shower

We had such a great time with family and friends a few weeks ago at our baby shower. I felt so blessed to have so many wonderful women there to help us celebrate our little angel that is on the way.

We had gerber daisies all over thanks to my wonderful Aunt Florence who sent them from Michigan and this great cake that my mom's neighbor Alison made.

My Godmother, Teona, was such a great hostess! It as just lovely!

Who invited this boy to the party? Well I guess since he is going to be the Uncle and he lives there it was ok for him to join in the fun. Plus, what guy would not like to hang out with a group full of awesome ladies?

Since my sister, Kate, and Reagan are going to be sharing the same middle name, Kate had to get her a few of her favorite things which included this cute swimsuit. Kate really put together a very thoughtful gift.

Reagan is very lucky to have such a great group of women that will be around her to love her and help her become a very strong and confident women. In the back row is my mother in law Marty and my step mom Kathy. In the front is my sister Kate, me, my mom, and Teona. The only one missing is my grandma Bennett who had to leave before this shot.

Pregnancy update

It was brought to my attention this weekend that it has been some time since we have posted a belly shot...so here is the most current one. This is at 30 weeks...

Mom and baby are doing well, the Dr says we have had a perfect pregnancy so far measuring right one track and a healthy heart beat of 145. She has become a gymnast in the last few weeks and really enjoys getting a foot, hand, or butt wedged up in my ribs! Sometimes it is a bit uncomfortable but I love having that sign of her thriving well inside of me - well worth any discomfort! We have been working on getting the nursery together...Rob put her bassinet together last week and of course we had to put Riley in it to try it out.

Such a cute dog....he has no clue how his life is going to change in 2 months!!! He will always be my first baby!
