Break out the pink...we are having a girl!!

Well, we had the big ultrasound today and of course we have a stubborn child who did not want to let us in on her identity at first. The tech was great though she did everything we could to see the sex and then finally all it took was emptying the bladder giving her a little room so we could see she is a girl!! The beautiful girl is standing right on her mom's bladder which I could have told you before. We are so excited to finally be able to picture our angel as a girl!! Here are some pictures from the ultrasound.
It's a Girl!!!

A leg shot, they said she has big feet!

What a beautiful Face!! You can tell already she is a looker like her mom!

One of arms that was moving all over the place.

The Dr said everything looks great, measuring just as it should for 20 weeks, she weigh 11 ounces! We feel so blessed that we are having a healthy baby girl and that we had an opportunity to see her.

Rob getting a hair cut

Melissa's sister, Kate, is in cosmetology school at The Aveda Insitute and she was so kind to lend her services to help out with cutting Rob's hair. We turned the kitchen into her temporary salon and she did a wonderful job. Rob said it is the best hair cut that he has gotten in the last 5 years!! She has really found a way to use her God given talents toward a career that she really enjoys - we are so proud of you Kate!!

We are still here...

Yes, we are still here....we have just had a broken computer that we had to take care of before we could get online again. So, from here on out I promise we will be much better about keeping our blog up to date! Things are going very well at the Doll household. Melissa is growing more everyday, the picture is a 16 week belly shot. We have our big ultrasound on February 1st - we are so excited to see our little angel and yes we will be finding out boy or girl so we will let everyone know. We have been trying to organize the house while Melissa has energy right now to make room for all the baby things. Other than that, we have been enjoying cheering on the Colts on the road to the Super Bowl.

Awesome early birthday present

So tomorrow is my birthday and I got a very cool birthday present....a picture of our little one! It was such an amazing site to see that little bit of cells that God is forming into our baby. You could see the little heart beat, which pretty much moved the whole body since the baby is only half an inch long. Our due date got moved back to June 22nd based off of the measurements of the baby currently. What a huge blessing that we can have such great technology to get a glimpse of our baby!

Telling The Parents...

What an exciting event in our lives that we have looked forward to since we have been married....telling our parents that we are going to make them grandparents! So when we found out we were expecting a few weeks ago we immediately starting thinking about how to tell each of our parents in a fun way. So we took a picture of the positive test which we figured we could just show them so we would not have to vocalize something clever through our emotions.

Well this did not go as planned....we had lunch with Mom, Teona, and Katlyn and Rob opened a "gift" with the picture inside and then handed it to my Mom and asked what she thought of it. She just looked at the picture, we thought she was taken over by emotions but the truth was she was unable to see it up close! So Teona took it from her and held it across the table for Mom to see but still that was not possible. Finally, Kate had to look at it and said it is a pregnancy test...it then took about 30 seconds for everyone at the table to figure out what we were telling them and then they all became very excited! For my Dad and Cathy we thought we would try the same thing, surely it would work better for them. My Dad stared at it for a few minutes - not able to see it very well either - once he figured out that it was a pregnancy test he them proceded to try and see if it was positive. We were so anxious for them to get it we finally had to say "why else would we show you a pregnancy test if it were not positive?" Once it sunk it what was happening we got several tears.

For Rob's parents we figured we needed to do something a little bit easier so they could pick up on it quicker. So, we enlisted Riley's help....we got him a t-shirt that said "Big news I am going to be a big brother!" We told his parents that they just had to see Riley's halloween costume...we took him in the other room put his shirt on...and he knew exactly what to do...he ran right in the living room and jumped up on Marty's lap. When she read what the shirt said she screamed in shock! Now that we have told our parents hopefully everyone else will not be so difficult to tell the great news that we are expecting our first bundle of joy in June 2007!!
